Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Delhi
On arrival you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Overnight is at
your hotel in Delhi.

Day 2: Delhi – Jaipur
After breakfast we will drive to The Pink City of Jaipur. Upon arrival, we will immediately check into
our hotel. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the city's atmosphere or just relaz. Overnight is at your
hotel in Jaipur.

Day 3: Jaipur
The day starts with an elephant ride up to Amer Fort followed by a comprehensive tour covering
Hawa Mahal, the Royal Observatory, City Palace, Nawab Sahab Ki Haveli and Johari Bazar.
Overnight is at your hotel in Jaipur.

Day 4: Jaipur – Agra
Today we set off for Agra. On the way we will stop to visit the old deserted town of Fatehpur Sikri.
On arrival in Agra, we will check into our hotel. Later we will visit one of the Seven Wonders of the
World, the Taj Mahal, as well as Red Fort and the Tomb of Itmad-ud-daula. Overnight is at our hotel
in Agra.

Day 5: Agra – Varanasi
This morning we will go to Agra's airport to catch our flight to Varanasi. On arrival, we will be
transferred to our hotel. An afternoon city tour of Sarnath, famous for its Dhamekh Stupa and for
being the place where Buddha preached his first sermon, is scheduled. Overnight is at our hotel in
Varanasi.

Day 6: Varanasi
At dawn we enjoy a boat ride on the sacred River Ganges to watch the sun rise and see the faithful
perform their daily rituals. Afterwards we will continue our exploration of India's oldest and most
sacred city to the Hindu by seeing Vishwanath Temple and Bharat Mata Temple. Overnight is at our
hotel in Varanasi.

Day 7 and Day 8: Varanasi – Bodhgaya
We will stay in Varanasi for two more nights during which we will see Rajgir, Nalanda, Sapta Pari
Cave and Venevamas. Overnight is at our hotel in Bodhgaya.

Day 9: Bodhgaya – Vaishali – Kushinagar
After breakfast we proceed to Vaishali where the Buddha delivered his last sermon and announced
his impending " Nirvana". We will also witness the majesty of the Ashok Pillar, the Lotus tank, and
Chaumukhi before proceeding to Kushinagar where we will stay overnight.

Day 10: Kushinagar – Lumbini
This morning we will visit the Mahanirvana Temple, the Sri Lanka Buddhist Center and monasteries,
then proceed to Lumbini. Overnight is at our hotel in Lumbini.

Day 11: Lumbini – Kapilvastu – Sravasti – Balrampur
Today we will visit Ashoka’s pillar (249 BC) which was rediscovered in the 1890’s inside a thick sal
forest, a temple of Mayadevi, and the ruins of an old monastery. In the afternoon we will go to
Balrampur enroute visiting Sravasti where you will see the extensive ruins of this ancient city and
Jetavana Monastery. On arrival we will be taken to our hotel. Overnight is at our hotel in Balrampur.

Day 12: Balrampur – Lucknow
A morning tour of Balrampur is scheduled. Later, we continue on our way to Lucknow. On arrival
we will check into our hotel. Overnight is at our hotel in Lucknow.

Day 13: Lucknow
This morning we will tour Imambara and Rumi Darwaza. In the afternoon we will be transferred to
the airport for our flight back to Delhi. On arrival we will be transferred to our hotel. Overnight is at
our hotel in Delhi.

Day 14: Delhi
On this day you will be taken for sightseeing around India's capital. The trip will cover Qutab Minar,
Humayun Tomb, India Gate, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, the Gandhi Memorial. Time will be set aside
for you to explore Old Delhi as well. Overnight is at our hotel in Delhi.

Day 15: Delhi - Onward Journey
You will be taken to the station or airport for your onward journey. Tour Ends.
